Export to Japan, the allergen issue on food labels confirms - where ever it was needed - the extreme peculiarity of the Rising Sun, and its system of rules.
The precautionary indication 'may contain ...', as we have seen, it appears to be the most effective in expressing the operator's inability to exclude the risk of accidental contamination of the food with allergenic ingredients that go beyond the product formula. Despite the scrupulous application of good hygiene practices and self-control.
In Tokyo however the wording is not allowed 'It may contain' to express the 'Precautionary Allergens Labeling' (PAL). La Consumer Affairs Agency of Japan (CAA) is indeed oriented towards a narrative extended to the cause of the risk of accidental contamination. So for example:

Allergens subject to mandatory indication specific in Japan are then only seven. Peanuts, eggs, milk, crab, shrimp, wheat, buckwheat. (1) Another twenty food matrices are instead subject to specific labeling that is not mandatory but only 'recommended' by the Ministry of Health and Labor. (2)
